Hatshepsut

I am doing my project on the Remove Formatting from selectionpharaoh Hatshepsut. The people that worked for her and knew her liked her. Hatshepsut also changed Egypt when she ruled.

Hatshepsut was born during the 18th dynasty. She had a sister,Princess Neterukheb. She also had two brothers, Wadjmose and Amennose who both died young. Hatshepsut also had a half brother who she later married. He was Thutmosis 2. Her mother was Amose and father Thutmosis 1. Hatshepsut was able to rise from princess to queen to pharaoh. She might have inspired others such as Cleopatra. Hatshepsut was also considered one on of the greatest rulers male or female.

As a child a royal scribe taught Hatshepsut how to read and write hieroglyphics. Hatshepsut questioned the need for her education because she would never become pharaoh. She was raised that all good came from the god Amon, plus the King and Queen. They were a trinity. Hatshepsut was taught the importance of the Nile. It was a source of goods and food for the people of Egypt and her family. Even though Hatshepsut was not the heir to the throne she held much authority. That was due to her father and high expectations which was set for her at birth. She was given no choice of what would come in adulthood.

Before Hatshepsut’s father died he claimed his son Thutmosis 3 heir to the throne. Since Thutmosis was still young Hatshepsut claimed he was to young to run by himself. Thutmosis had no problems with it. She often strapped a gold beard to her chin and often dressed in male clothing. It was believed that Hatshepsut posed as a man while out on expeditions or visible to her kingdom. She acquired many tittles as she ruled. She accomplished many things as she ruled. After an expedition to Punt the crew brought back exotic goods. Some of them are ivory, myrrh, wood, monkeys, and gold. She was able to increase trade expansion, keep a country at peace, and begin to perfect domestic advancement.

Hatshepsut also had a daughter Princess Neferure. Being queen, pharaoh and mother took much patience, talent, and devotion. Hatshepsut also built a magnificent temple in Thebes, Deir el Bahri. It was built near The Valley of Kings. As Thutmosis 3 grew into adulthood he decided he wanted full rights to the throne. Some think Hatshepsut was either poisoined by Thutmosis 3 or left the country.

In conclusion Hatshepsut was strong. She was also loved by so many. Hatshepsut was also able to accomplish so much. It was difficult for her, but she made it through.
